Barefoot Trimming Apprenticeship OpportunityWith such a demand for qualified barefoot trimming experts we are offering a Barefoot Trimming Apprenticeship Program for those who are compassionate about helping horses. The candidate will learn all aspects of Barefoot Hoof Care & Nutritional Needs to complete and enhance the horse’s barefoot trim lifestyle. Previous experience is an asset but not essential. A passion for helping horses live a natural lifestyle is definitely a prerequisite as well as general horse handling knowledge. This opportunity is best suited for someone who resides a comfortable distance from Kingston, Ontario so they may be available for training and travel to current clients. You must have your own transportation and digital camera for documenting hoof progress and available at least 3 days per week. Of course you will need to purchase your own tools necessary for the profession. Time line will strongly depend upon the individual’s current level of understanding and experience with horses. We are starting with an initial 6 month training program where one on one consultation will be offered. Then depending upon skills accumulated you will be given some of our maintenance trimming clients horses to service along with intermittent supervision. In lieu of the extensive training opportunity offered the candidate will be required to conduct themselves professionally, ethically and only trim horses under our supervision for at least one year after training.
