Why clicker training for horses? In order for us to have great communication in the saddle we must establish great communication from the ground. Understanding horse psychology is the key to gaining rapport and trust. Only then can natural riding be applied effectively.

Every horse and human’s situation may be different however the horse’s instinctual needs are always the same. They are a herd animal, they must feel safe (a confident leader not dominant leader provides this security), they learn through comfort and TRUST, they play with each other and they feel love and bond with their own kind easily.

It is our responsibility to learn their language to open the door of communication in terms of what comes naturally to them.

Our lessons are based on teaching the human the body language and horse psychology that the horses understand.

The goals of these lessons are to teach from the ground:

  • Interpreting horse behavior to discover what a horse is trying to communicate to you.
  • Learn what a horse’s physical and emotional needs are.
  • How to recognize when a horse is trying.
  • How to apply positive reinforcement methods.
  • How to apply Natural Horsemanship Training methods.
  • Learn all aspects of natural horse care and horse keeping. i.e. nutritional needs, barefoot care, equine dentistry maintenance, saddle fitting & understanding the harmful effects of bits plus so much more!
