Horse Anatomy
Learning some basics about horse anatomy can open a door to understanding horse behavior and horsemanship too. Not to mention when talking with your vet you can have clearer communication when discussing a problem. A common component of unwanted horse behavior is caused by pain and often over looked as the problem. An ill fitting saddle for example can cause a horse to refuse to walk forward or buck you to the next galaxy! Knowing just the basics can help you to determine the possible places on a horse that can be effected and therefore rectify the situation. I encourage people to get to know every inch of their horses’ body that way you can identify abnormalities the moment they appear. From a new bump to a new mark of any kind. When I brush a horse I do it with awareness like a doctor would at a check up or examination. Like anything else the more knowledgeable you can acquire the better.
