Separation Anxiety

I have 3 horses that are very well bonded and have been living in one large paddock. We are moving to a new place and I can set it up how I want. To help the issue of separation anxiety should I put the horses in separate paddocks in the new place straight away or put them all together and then separate them bit by bit? Your thoughts would be helpful, one goes silly in the paddock and one goes silly out alone and one doesn't care. Thanks for your help.
Regards Ali

Answer:

Just by separating horses on either side of a fence doesn’t necessarily stop separation anxiety from happening. But I would definitely separate bit by bit.

I would also utilize the horse that doesn’t get “silly” to help the others learn. Note that what is “Silly" to us is “Fear” to them.

Please see this page on Separation Anxiety for more information.
