My Website Dilemma & The Site Build It Solution For Me!Long before I ever heard about Site Build it and about 7 years ago I wanted to start a website to share more information, so I asked around and was given a referral to a web site designer. I didn’t know squat about creating one myself, so this seemed like the perfect solution at the time to get me started. I paid $350.00 for set up plus $100.00 per year for the web hosting. $40.00 /hr. for changes after the first pages were set up. (I think there were about 10) First problems encountered: - Getting changes done in a timely fashion was difficult. Often days or weeks later while relying on someone else’s schedule. - Every small change was costly at $40.00/hr and time consuming having to explain what and where. - I was not given any information regarding understanding keywords, traffic stats or web email nor did I even know this stuff existed and how important it was! In other words support as to how to make your site valuable or noticed to people was not ever offered. Of course at that time my understanding was if you built the site people would find you. It took me several more years to discover this was not the truth at all!
Web Designers take Two!A few years later I thought my site just needed to be updated. You know look more professional and cool. So I started asking around again, this time to some very expensive places. "You get what you pay for, I thought".Here are the answers I received this go around: - for $1200.00 a web designer could make the home page look more updated and try to increase traffic with some kind of special program he had. But no promises! “It’s a long hard thing to do!” I was told. - for $5000.00 this web designer could make the site look even more cool with gadgets of video and things that moved! And again when I asked if it would increase my traffic or get recognized by Google I was told, “Oh, no guarantees there, no body knows the tricks of that trade!”. Instead since the law of attraction was in action, I met a gal who was a terrific web designer and loved horses too. I thought since I already had a site, just redesigning it would be a snap. But it still cost me $1200.00. Thank goodness she was willing to exchange some training since I really hadn’t expected the cost only because I was comparing it to my original $350.00 for the first one. Yet she improved the look without a doubt. Still, making changes and adding the content I wanted in the future was going to take further time & money but more importantly I wanted to know, how does one get noticed on the web?
Web Designers take Three!While researching some horse information I came across a site that triggered the question, Do you want to be able to create & make changes on your own site? In my case the answer was YES but I did not have the confidence at all that I had the computer savvy to do it. Well both problems were answered with the reassurance that you didn’t need to know how (that’s supplied) and if you need help (that’s supplied too!) So I investigated further.
Problem Solved with Site Build It!I got my cake and ate it too! (And still eating it!)I have learned more than I ever thought possible! Especially since I didn’t think I had enough computer savvy. (Turns out I didn’t need to!) I couldn’t believe how simple, well structured and gosh, the help that is available is awesome! I thought I wouldn’t have the time to learn and stay focused on my horse business. Turns out I was so inspired by being free to write about so many things that would help others I found the time needed to learn. I did take advantage of the support available in the beginning and paid for some initial set up to get me going while my learning curve caught up and was able to carry on. Site Build It is the best investment I have ever made!. And I really did it out of pure frustration because I had a site already developed and wanted the information transferred quickly. Patience on my part was thin.
The Big Bonus with Site Build It!With the help of Site Build It I am no longer paying someone else for work I can do! I can update my site at my leisure and I am learning how to make more money doing it!But most importantly I now have the answer to my question, how does someone get noticed on the web? And even more importantly I know how to make money too with my passion on the web! Site Build It will answer these and a million more questions you might have! Really! Every time I turn around there is more information to help you succeed!
